Return Home
Linda's Mom, Reba was released from the Rehab Center Saturday. Imon
picked Linda up at the Daleville house and they went to take Reba to her
home in Pendleton. Stacey and I remained in Daleville and went to eat
lunch at the Legion. I had contacted Linda and she said things were
going well, so Stacey and I took the Equinox to see Nana. Linda and Imon
had left in the time it took us to drive to Pendleton. We went inside
and Anita was talking with Reba. We talked about a half hour, then Abner
Jr arrived. We stayed for another 10 minutes talking and then went back
to Daleville. Valerie & Bob Bankson dropped by and we talked late into
the night.
Sunday morning, we loaded up the car quickly and headed
south. It was sprinkling rain and severe storms were predicted for later
that day. We were ahead of the storms, so we stopped at King Fish and
enjoyed lunch while watching the clouds blow by and the river traffic.
The
closer we drove to the farm the better the sky looked. When we were
almost home the car's display showed the temperature as 81 degrees.
Right
before sunset the clouds were still scattered with lots of sun shinning
through.
So
the report is, Nana is back home and had another good day on Sunday.

Burning Leaves
We needed to put away some things for winter so, I started a small fire
down by the shelter house.
We
burnt a few logs, several branches and some leaves that Linda raked into
a pile while we set some chairs and benches inside.
After
the fire burnt a bit, I put on the hot dogs. Stacey and Linda dressed
the buns
Stacey
and Linda watched the fire burn for a while after eating the hot dogs.

Thanksgiving Week
Saturday & Sunday, we began the week by working on the smoke house. In
the past, I had cut out the bad wood under the window opening and we
started using that opening as the door because the door was falling
apart. Kyle, Brent and I installed some pressure treated wood on the
inside of the building to hold the siding in place. We then located and
cut a piece of barn siding to fit the old door. We screwed it to the
pressure treated wood and made the old door stationary. Then we placed
the pipe for the new sliding door to roll across and screwed it in
place. Brent's family went home a little before noon on Sunday.
I
cut the wood and assembled the door frame, then Linda helped hang the
frame by slipping the rollers on the pipe. We then laid out the barn
siding, removed the nails and cut it to length. Linda held it in place
while I screwed it to the door frame. I pulled out an extra piece of
white trim, left over from the equipment shed, for the top of the
sliding door, painted it and mounted it above the pipe. We are
considering that job finished.
Stacey,
Linda and I drove to IN on Tuesday. Linda and I stayed around the
Daleville house because Stacey had some mild problems.
Wednesday,
Stacey was better, especially when Pauline, Brent, Julie, Kyle, Poco &
Pepper arrived at the Daleville house. They soon loaded into the
Traverse and all went to visit Nana, except the dogs, they were all my
watch dogs.
Thanksgiving Day, we all went to Valerie & Bob Bankson's
house for a gigantic dinner. Over 40 family members carried in food and
ate all they wanted. Everyone seemed to enjoy getting together.
Thanks
Valerie & Bob!
Friday, Stacey, Linda and I went to
visit with Reba for a couple of hours. After returning to Daleville, we
headed to the Pacer game about 6 PM. Their game was with the Toronto
Raptors, which was the second place team in their division. The location
of our seats for this game ended up being the best ones we have
purchased.
The
Pacers jumped out to a quick 1st quarter lead, but the Raptors had
turned that around and led by 10 points at halftime.
Stacey's
emotions went down as the Raptor's lead grew. Then, in the 4th quarter,
the Pacer made their comeback and so did Stacey. The teams were
exchanging the lead as time was winding down. In the final minute, Lance
Stevenson hit two 3 point shots that gave the Pacers a 2 point lead.
Then a Raptor turnover and foul with 6.4 seconds put the Pacers at the
foul line, Collison missed the first shot, then hit his second free
throw to make the score 107 to 104. The Reptors called a time out, came
out of the huddle and missed the last shot - PACERS WIN, PACERS WIN !!
We
drove back towards Daleville, stopping at Steak 'n' Shake in Anderson to
eat.
Saturday morning we went to Muncie to look around at a craft
show before closing the house and heading home about noon. Traffic was
moving fairly well and we made it home slightly before dark.

Mark Chesnutt Concert
We picked Jason up a few minutes after 5 PM and I drove to Glasgow.
Stacey and Jason ate pizza while Linda and I had steak grinders at
Mancino's. We then drove to the Courthouse Square, parked and walked the
short distance to the Plaza Theatre. Reserved seats that anyone can
order online make going to the Plaza a nice experience. I had ordered 4
tickets to the Mark Chesnutt show and we walked in, found our seats and
waited about 20 minutes till the concert began.
Mark
Chesnutt opened with one of his hit songs, then another and another. He
stopped and spoke for a couple minutes, then back to the music. Linda
and I had forgotten how many hit songs Mark had sung. No breaks and very
little talking, only 3 songs I had never heard.
Mark
played about an hour and 20 minutes, then left the stage. He came back
with "Bubba Shot The Jukebox" and that was when people crowded down to
the stage to take "selfies" while Mark was singing.
The
concert was over, the crowd left happy and all of us thought it was a
good show. We returned Jason to his house and continued on to the farm.
