Travis Tritt Concert

Jason invited Stacey to go with Stephanie, Tommy and him to see Travis Tritt at the Plaza Theatre in Glasgow. Tommy was the driver and they all picked Stacey up about 4:30 PM. Jason came in the house and Stacey and he exchanged Christmas presents before leaving.

They went to Glasgow and had dinner at a new restaurant called Sidelines. Stacey said the food was good and that they had a lot of TV screens to watch while eating. Tommy drove everyone to the Plaza, parked the car and they all walked to their seats inside. Stacey said, for some reason, Tommy had to sit in the balcony while the others sat on the main floor.

Stacey said Travis put on a really good show, that he played for two hours, and then did a one song encore before leaving.

Tommy brought everyone back to Burkesville with Stacey getting home a little before midnight. The next morning she was still talking about Travis' show and the fun she had with Jason.

Kyle's 4th Birthday

We left the farm a little before 11 AM and headed to Pauline and Brent's house to attend a birthday party for Kyle. It was his fourth. We were a little early, but soon Wyatt and Kaden came in, they were buddies from the baby sitters. Grandma Dorothy, Ashley and Shelly came by too. Pauline began the party with a game that had the kids running back and forth, putting on Batman outfits and racing with each other. They also played a hide and seek type of game before going to the dining room for cake and ice cream.

Kyle blew out the 4 candles on his 'Batman' cake, then Pauline dipped everyone ice cream to enjoy with their cake.

We all moved back to the living room when we finished with the cake and ice cream to watch as Kyle opened his birthday presents. It was hard for Julie and the other kids to keep their hands back while Kyle tore into the surprises.

Happy Valentines' Day

Brent had a simple medical procedure done at the Dr's office and needed a break from the kids jumping around, so Stacey and I headed to their house to pick up the kids. We stopped and talked with Brent and loaded up the kids' suitcases and various paraphernalia before picking up Julie and Kyle at the babysitter. We rode towards home in a steady rain and that made it tough finding a good parking spot at Wal-Mart when we stopped for a few groceries. We quickly picked up the things we needed and made the run back to the farm. Linda was home when we arrived and told Stacey that there had been a delivery for her while we were gone. Jason had the bouquet delivered to Stacey for Valentine's Day. Several of the flowers and the ribbon were Stacey's favorite color.

Weekend's Nice Weather

We had fairly nice weather for the weekend. It was 67 degrees on Saturday and around 60 degrees on Sunday. Pauline, Brent and their kids came over Friday evening and stayed until Sunday afternoon. We were outside most of the daylight hours on Saturday and quite a bit on Sunday too. We took the tractor across the creek and brought back one of the rejected logs from when the loggers were working on the farm. It was hollow, so Linda wanted it made into a flower 'box'. We used the chainsaw to cut out one side, which made it look like a canoe with holes in both ends. After that we spent some time trying to get a big rope over one of the limbs of the pecan tree for a swing. Of course, the rope with a board tied on, became wedged in the tree between two limbs, and we had to get it loose before we finally were able to get the rope in the proper location for the swing. The kids immediately began swinging.

Sunday, we went to the gravel bar in the creek and then we threw rocks in the creek. This was something that Julie, Kyle, Brent and I have done for a long time and the kids always want to go do it. We also played Frisbee in the hay field while Daisy was running.

After lunch, Brent had wanted to do some chainsawing, so we took the tractor and the saw and went back in the 'holler' to cut up a few trees that had fallen across the branch and were blocking the trail. It was easier than I thought. We just dropped the trees on down to the ground in long sections, chained them together and drug them out of the narrow area to an open spot to cut up at a later day. Pauline and Brent went home around 3:30 PM.
