Rain and Cooler Temps

The rain started last night about dark and we had about 1/2" when I looked in the rain gauge this morning. I emptied the gauge and went back inside. Linda has been working at the school, so she had been getting ready to go. I let the ducks out and then took the trash to the edge of the road. It rained 4 or 5 more times during the day, sometimes it was coming down hard, other times just a drizzle. About 5 PM I checked the gauge again and we had nearly an inch. About 7:30 Linda and I rode a 4-wheeler down to the mum patch and there were a few with their roots under water. The plants were a dark green and looked great. I don't think the ones that were under water will be hurt, it wasn't deep enough to drown them. The high temperature was 84 degrees today, a lot easier on the A/C and me.
